Model 920 Portable Instrument

Switch on the power and the Model 920 Portable Instrument is ready to measure and record peak torque, torque-angle, or force!

The 920 is a portable, accurate, and versatile instrument that can be set up quickly and easily to collect data for hundreds of applications such as product audits, in-process SPC, power or hand tool setup and calibration, and troubleshooting!

Model 920 Features

  • Simultaneous display of current track and peak data
  • Collects up to 300 time and date stamped readings
  • Compatibility with most conventional strain gage transducers
  • Selectable units of measure
  • Selectable filters for use with power tools
  • Calculated population and sample size statistics
  • Serial port for printing reports or uploading data to a computer

Versatile
The Model 920 instrument is designed to conduct torque testing before, during or after assembly. Although it fits comfortably in the hand, the 920 is powerful and accurate enough to be used as a primary standard for auditing most torque applications in manufacturing and quality departments. You can use it to test the capability of power tools, verify the accuracy of hand tools, monitor the capability of a fastening process, or audit the quality of an assembled joint. The 920 can also be easily set up for use with force washers, clamp force sensors, and other transducers to measure fastener assembly preload, press force, pressure, and many other applications.

Easy to Use
The Model 920 can measure and record data quickly, easily, and accurately. It reads the ID chip in most RS Technologies transducers to speed setup and calibration. The alphanumeric display is easy to read and prompts you through setup and operation as needed. The 920 displays peak and track data simultaneously and measures in either the clockwise or counterclockwise (compression or tension) direction. It contains an on-board library of transducer setup data to simplify tool selection. Pick from one of five user-defined transducer setups or from the library of RS Tech transducers.

Quick Data Outputs
The built-in serial port lets you print data and statistics right from the Model 920.

The recorded data can also be easily uploaded to a personal computer for further analysis using the HyperTerminal application provided with the Windows operating system.
